Childcare Workers Now Eligible For Vaccine
By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH - The Purchase District Health Department has updated their online registration to reflect the latest tweak in vaccination phasing by Governor Andy Beshear.

The governor said Monday that childcare workers have been moved up into phase 1b and can immediately sign up to get the vaccine. The health department said they have added the category, “childcare worker: employed at a licensed facility, certified home, or a registered professional," on their website's registration page.

The health department said they will continue to prioritize the 70-plus population but will begin to work childcare workers into their vaccination clinics.

The bad weather this week has affected shipment of the vaccine in multiple states including Kentucky, and the health department says they have not yet been notified of when their next shipment will arrive. Once they know that information, officials will begin notifying those who have registered to schedule their next vaccination clinic. This will be done in the relative order of when a person registered.
