A Paducah Tilghman High School student has been named among the top 10% of youth volunteers by Prudential and has received a Presidential Service Award.

Freshman Hadley Pierce has been honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a Certificate of Excellence from the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, and also with a President's Volunteer Service Award from President Donald Trump.

Presented annually by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honors young people across America for their outstanding volunteer service. Certificates of Excellence were granted to the top 10 percent of all Prudential Spirit of Community Award applicants in each state and the District of Columbia. Volunteer activities were judged on criteria including personal initiative, creativity, effort, impact, and personal growth.

The President's Volunteer Service Awards recognize Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of time to serve their communities, as well as their country. Paducah Tilghman High School nominated Pierce for national honors in recognition of her volunteer service with Clark Elementary School's Affair of the Arts program and also with the Market House Theatre's youth education program.

Pierce is the daughter of Heather and Neil Pierce.
