Paducah Tilghman High School juniors Bradley Duncan and Andrew Shannon have been selected as participants and sophomores Will Denton, Jose Roberto dos Remedios, Claire Kelly, and Michael-Ellen Walden have been selected as alternates for the 2015 Governor's School for the Arts (GSA). Students audition for various art disciplines for GSA.

Duncan was chosen for Musical Theatre and Shannon was selected for Drama. Denton was selected for vocal music, dos Remedios was selected for instrumental music (piano), Kelly was selected for vocal music, and Walden was selected for drama.

Governor’s School for the Arts provides hands-on arts opportunities for promising high school sophomores and juniors in nine different arts disciplines: Architecture, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Instrumental Music, Musical Theater, New Media, Visual Art and Vocal Music. The three week program is hosted by Centre College.

Over 2,000 students auditioned for the program this year at four sites across Kentucky. Approximately 240 students are selected for GSA, an honor which includes: full tuition, room and board to attend the school; the opportunity to learn in a supportive community of distinguished master-teachers; the chance to audition for scholarships before the nation’s top colleges and universities; and participation in the Student Performance Festival at the conclusion of the program.
