PTHS Speech-Debate Team Scores Well in Oratory

Paducah Tilghman Sophomore Kate Criner’s first place win in Original Oratory, 4th place in the finals of Program Oral Interpretation helped propel the young team to the podium Saturday, Nov. 18. The PTHS team finished with third overall at the Larry A. England Invitational, held at Calloway County High School in Murray.

The team was assisted with the trophy finish by award winning overall performances from Ella Bailey and Isaac Galliher, 4th - Improvisational Duo; Tremieka Mai, 4th - Storytelling; Allison Jones and Honi Haghighatjoo, 5th - Duo Interpretation; Ella Bailey, 5th- Dramatic Interpretation; Angelea Shute, 6th - Impromptu; Jake Taylor and Daniel Garcia, 6th - Duo Interpretation; Jenna Price, 6th – Broadcasting.

Elijah Patrick (grade 9), Andrew Wenger (grade 10), Erin Stafford (grade 10), Samuel Lambert (grade 10), Shioneka Farr (grade 10), Tatiyannah Alfaro-Jackson (grade 10), and Bret Bundy (grade 11) also competed in preliminary rounds.
