The U.S. News rankings, which include nearly 1,400 colleges and universities, are based on several key measures of quality, such as graduation and retention rates, assessment of excellence, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, graduation rate performance and alumni giving.
Murray State was ranked 34th in the category for regional universities in the South, 11th in the list of top public regional universities in the South and 56th in the category for best value among regional universities in the South.
The university’s undergraduate engineering and business programs also ranked again on the 2019 report, with notable gains in their respective categories from the previous year.
“Recognition from a nationally-respected college resource such as U.S. News & World Report for 28 consecutive years indicates that Murray State University continues to provide incredible resources, support and opportunities for our students to succeed and achieve their dreams,” said Murray State interim president Bob Jackson. “Rankings such as these do not come easily.
