Middle Schoolers Raise Money for Animal Shelter
By West Kentucky Star Staff
Graves County Middle School teacher Jessica Holder and many of her students share a common love for their pets. So, they’ve become fund-raisers for the Mayfield-Graves County Animal Shelter.

Their “Paw Festival” is held at the school each year with proceeds and donations helping the shelter care for animals while they wait for adoption. In fact, volunteers brought adoptable dogs to the Paw Festival. The event also included games, a silent auction, a bake sale, and more.

Prior to the event, students raised money in classroom competition by selling bracelets. Altogether, they raised $1,300.11 for the shelter.
