Watson served 21 years as a police officer with the Paducah Police Department. He has been with McCracken County Schools for the last 19 years as a school resource officer.
"I am humbled and honored to be entrusted with the safety of the students and staff of McCracken County Schools," said Watson.
McCracken County Schools employ seven school resource officers and one supervisor. Each is a sworn police officer and a graduate of the Department of Criminal Justice police academy. The officers cover every school in the county and are responsible for enforcing all local, state and federal laws.
Current supervisor Larry Zacheretti is retiring this month after 13 years with McCracken County Schools.
