Graves County High School's Media Arts Program or GCTV, as it’s known throughout the school, has won its second straight Class AAA state championship in the Kentucky High School Journalism Association's Broadcast Division.

Senior Logan Whaley won in the Voiceover or Voiceover/Sound On Tape category, placed second in the Sports Package category, second place in Humorous Feature, and third in Sports Feature. Senior Chelsea Cartwright won the category in Sports Package.

The GCTV Newscast took second place in the Best Newscast Category. Seniors Abigail Hughes and Dalton Beecham placed third in the News Package category.

The competition period extends from one March to the next March to allow students to submit projects made at the end of the previous school year. Some 2015 GCHS graduates also earned state awards.

Graduates Libby Warren and Madison Morgan won in Humorous Feature.

Graduate Megan Robinson placed third in Voiceover or Voiceover/Sound On Tape.

Media arts teacher Josh Heisner leads the Graves High program.
