Coye Elliott is a lifelong resident of Farmington. His father, David Elliott, served as the GCHS girls basketball coach in the early 1990s.
After graduation, Coye earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agriculture education and a second master’s in administration, all from Murray State University.
He taught agriculture and served as FFA advisor in the McCracken County Schools for eight years, first at Lone Oak High School and then at the consolidated McCracken County High School.
Still, he said, “Administration is something I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve had family in similar positions.” He got his start as an interim assistant principal at McCracken County High School last spring. Now, he’s excited about his first full year as an assistant principal and at his alma mater. He concluded, “I really appreciate the opportunity here to lead. It means a lot to me!”
