Johnson won first place overall at the McCracken County talent show in June, a win that advanced her to the state competition. Advancing through preliminary state competition rounds in mid-August, Johnson’s scores placed her in contention for the championship contest and title. This is Johnson’s first time to compete at the state level.

Emma Johnson, Paducah Tilghman High School senior, was awarded the Kentucky State Fair First Place Sweepstakes title at the Coca-Cola Talent Classic on Saturday, August 26. Performing the song “Girl in 14 G” by Kristen Chenoweth, Johnson’s win earned her the State Fair’s purple ribbon and an $800 cash prize.
