Heather DiPasquale, band director for Ballard County Middle and Ballard Memorial High schools, was voted by her peers as the 2015 High School Music Teacher of the Year in the First District of the Kentucky Music Educators Association.

DiPasquale was nominated and selected from all of the high school music teachers in the First District, which includes Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Crittenden, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken and counties.

KMEA asked First District representatives to select a music teacher of the year for each of the elementary, middle, high school, and college/university divisions. DiPasquale was nominated by one of her colleagues who recognized her passion and dedication to the profession, and her students’ level of musical ability in the classroom and on stage.

“I am honored that my colleagues nominated and selected me for this award,” DiPasquale said. “My students constantly inspire me to improve my teaching. They always exceed my expectations and rise to meet any challenges that I give them. I am thankful to be at Ballard, where parents, colleagues, and my administration are very supportive of our music program.”
