The Pennyrile District Health Department has announced the awarding of a $40,000 grant to Crittenden County Elementary School for a new program.
The grant will be used to purchase and implement the Positive Behavior System and Ready, Set, Relax/ Release programs in the kindergarten through fifth grades.
The Positive Behavior System is designed to improve education by preventively rearranging settings that can promote behavioral challenges, and increasing the school’s positive, supportive, and preventive engagements among children with disabilities and mental health challenges.
The Ready, Set, Relax/Release program helps provide children the skills to understand how anxiety and relaxation affects them, recognize physical signs of stress, and respond with problem-solving skills or relaxation techniques.
The Pennyrile District Health Department serves the residents and visitors of Caldwell, Crittenden, Livingston, Lyon, and Trigg counties.
