Big Improvements Coming for Calloway Co. Library

Calloway County residents will soon be getting some major improvements to their public library.

In a 3-1 vote Wednesday evening, the Calloway County Public Library Board of Trustees approved a $6.4 million renovation and expansion project. The project will include major renovations to the existing 12,000 square foot facility, and will add an additional 16,575 square feet of space at its current location.

Business Manager Wyneth Herrington tells us the project is still very much in its early phase, and there is still much work to be done.

"The architect has still got to draw up the plans, and they've got to be approved. We're just kind of in the beginning phases." She said.

Herrington said she couldn't share additional details about the project at this time.
