The 2001 BMHS graduate earned his bachelor’s degree in science in 2005, his master’s in secondary education in 2013, and is now working on his master’s for administration, all at Murray State University. He has served as BCMS health and PE teacher for the last two years, and as varsity golf coach.
Queen also will be the district’s interim athletic director. One of his first moves was to fire up a new Twitter account, @BallardBombers, to be used for announcements, scores, stat lines and more. “I’m looking forward to working with our coaches, and want to showcase our student-athletes, too,” he said.
He expects his areas of emphasis to be in discipline and assisting in the teacher evaluation process. “I want to assist in any way that I possibly can to help every student be the best they can be,” he said.
Queen recently returned from his third mission trip with Antioch Baptist Church, to Haiti. He and his wife, Kacey, live in Slater with their 5-year-old daughter and 5-month-old son.
