April is Homeschoolers' Month, and Homeschoolers' Day is April 28 at Land Between the Lakes. Organizers have planned fun and educational activities, programs, celebrations and classes.

Homeschoolers’ Day is Friday, April 28, from 10am-3pm. Home educators and their families can spend a day learning all about trees and forest habitats. A two-hour visit is recommended and everyone is welcome. All programs included with regular admission: ages 13 and up $5, ages 5-12 $3, ages 4 and under are free. For more information, call Nature Station at 270-924-2299.

“This year, Homeschoolers’ Day is focused on forests,” says John Pollpeter, a Naturalist at Nature Station. “Homeschoolers will be able to get an up-close look at forest animals, investigate a forest ecosystem, complete educational crafts, work on a treetop scavenger hunt, and much more. Our ongoing programs and activities will incorporate concepts of science, English, and math into interactive lessons on the importance of forests. Your homeschooler will have a fun and exciting day learning about this precious resource.”

During the entire month, students can also pick up a Nature Discovery self-guided activity book at the Nature Station and complete activities to earn an official Nature Discovery patch and certificate. Available daily from 10 am-5 pm.
