The group responsible for the restoration of the Columbia Theatre wants public input to help them create a long-term plan.

A short online survey (see the link below) is available to help the Columbia Theatre board create a long-range plan. They are working with a group of Murray State students to analyze the survey's data, giving the board what they need, while giving the students a real-world case study.

The Paducah Art House Alliance board is responsible for the Columbia Theatre restoration, as well as Maiden Alley Cinema. They said the information they gather from the market study will help them set up a long-term business plan for the theatre.

“Even though the opening of this beautiful downtown Paducah theatre is years away, a business plan and operating budget must be created in order to adequately understand the financial needs of the theatre after it’s open,” said Darlene Mazzone, PAHA board chair. “We must fully assess the utilization of the theatre so that we are prepared to fund its continuous success into the future. This survey will help us to assess and calculate the potential revenues for the Columbia after it is operational.”

Landee Bryant-Greene, executive director of Maiden Alley Cinema, said there are lots of programming opportunities for restored Columbia.

“Many of the types of programming and events that we host at Maiden Alley will ultimately be on tap at the Columbia as well. We want the public and our potential patrons to let us know what types of programming they would want to see at the Columbia so that we can create a business plan that is viable and successful," she said.

“It will only take a few minutes and it will provide the project planners with invaluable information,” Mazzone added.
