Thursday morning, quilters and veterans from around the world came to honor those who have served in our armed forces by presenting quilts to show their appreciation. Four local veterans specifically were recognized and each were given a unique quilt with their names stitched into them as a way to thank and comfort them for their service to our country. After the ceremony, a color guard led the people in attendance to the Quilts of Valor exhibit now open on display. The veterans and quilters got to walk through, get pictures, and talk to the quilters who had their art presented in the exhibit.
Paducah Ambassador Vice President Robert Worden was one of those honored and was surprised when recognized for all that he does for disabled veterans. The many beautiful quilts are on display in the museum as apart of the Quilts of Valor Exhibit, and will be up until Veterans Day.
