The conference, which was held in St. Petersburg, FL, hosted over 500 people representing professional photography studios from all over the country.
Lacey won two awards, one being the Breakout Photographer of the year, a national award given to up-and-coming new photographers who have been in photography for fewer than 5 years.
Her mother/business partner, Jill Celaya, is understandably proud.
"As Mom, I can tell her all day long that she's great," says Jill, "but to have the photography industry and her professional peers recognize her was extremely rewarding."
Lacey also won a Design Award for 2012. This is an award for excellence in graphic design. However, with this award, Lacey had the remarkable honor to be both the designer and the photographer for her piece.
"She's just a really well-rounded photographer," says Jill. "She's great with people and has tons of creativity. The fact that she won the Design Award, as well as Breakout Photographer tells you that she is talented in many areas."
Wells Studio also received recognition in studio design being national finalists in two different areas for best camera room and outdoor shooting area. The studio has been in Mayfield for over 70 years and is located on the court square in Mayfield.
The studio will be celebrating Lacey's awards on Tuesday, May 22 from 5 pm until 7 pm with an Open House and a Meet and Greet with the award winning photographer.
Everyone is encouraged to attend.
