Special Olympics Needs Volunteers at Bowling Event

PADUCAH, KY - Volunteers are needed for the upcoming Special Olympics Bowling Tournament in Paducah.

The event scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, October 14-15 will be held at Cardinal Lanes on Joe Clifton Drive. Youth and adult Special Olympics Athletes from twelve western KY counties will compete in both singles and Unified Partner bowling. Last year’s competition hosted over 200 participants. 

Special Olympics KY is seeking groups or individual volunteers to serve as Lane Workers for the day’s event. Competition begins at 9:00 am on Saturday, October 14 for the singles competition and volunteers are asked to arrive by 8:30 am. The Unified competition will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm, and workers are asked to arrive by 1:30 pm.

Special Olympics is the world’s largest program of sports training and competition for more than one million children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Participation is open to all individuals eight years of age or older.
