Roty Named Baptist Health Paducah President
By WestKyStar & Baptist
PADUCAH, KY - Chris Roty has been named president of Baptist Health Paducah. Roty has been serving as interim president of the hospital since August. He succeeds William A. Brown.

“I am honored that the leadership of Baptist Health Paducah has entrusted me to lead the hospital in the future,” Roty said. “The hospital has so many talented employees and physicians who care about this community. I’m equally excited to serve Paducah and the entire region. The hospital has a long history of quality care and service, and together we will work to make it even better for generations to come.”

Roty, 53, had served as Baptist Health La Grange president since 2011. During his time there, the hospital was named a Certified Stroke Center by The Joint Commission and earned Pathway to Excellence® designation recognizing a positive work environment where nurses can excel. The hospital also assumed management of the Oldham County Emergency Medical Services. Hospital expansions have included addition of an infusion center for oncology patients in the Greater Louisville area, an enhanced surgery and cardiology program, and opening of the newly renovated George & Beverly Rawlings Women’s Center.

“We have been pleased with Chris Roty’s leadership the last few months,” said Diane Dalton Evans, Baptist Health Paducah Board chair. “He has a strong history of community involvement, physician engagement and recognitions for the hospitals he has served, and a breadth of knowledge from service development to technological solutions. His knowledge and experience will be an asset to Baptist Health Paducah, which offers many of the same services he has led in the past.”

Roty began his career with Baptist Health in 1994 as an assistant vice president for Baptist Hospital East (now known as Baptist Health Louisville) and was named a vice president in 1996.

In addition, Roty continued in his vice president role at Baptist Health Louisville with a focus on the growth and expansion of cardiovascular services, a program earned national recognition.

Roty earned a master’s degree in hospital and health administration from Xavier University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Albion College in Albion, Michigan. He began his career at Macomb Hospital Center in Warren, Michigan in 1989 as an administrative resident and was named an administrative fellow in 1990. He then served as an assistant administrator from 1991 to 1993.

Active in the local and healthcare communities, Roty is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served as president and treasurer of the Kentucky Chapter, which awarded him its Young Healthcare Executive of the Year “Regents Award” in 2003 and Senior-Level Healthcare Executive award in 2016. He has been a board member for the group since 2007 and served as the Regent of Kentucky. Roty is the former Chairman of Oldham Chamber & Economic Development, served as the 2014 Friends of Scouting Chairman for Oldham County and is former chairman and vice chairman of the board of the Kentucky/Southeast Indiana Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the United Way Recruitment program.

He and his wife, Lynn, have two children.
