Tradewater Music Fest

The “FIRST EVER” Tradewater Music Festival being will be September 15 & 16 on the banks of the Tradewater River at the Webster Crittenden County line. The GPS address is 15616 State Route 120 Providence, KY.    

Hosting a major music event has been a dream of Winghaven Lodge owner, Russell Edwards, for many years.  The stars have aligned and his dream is coming true with the birth of what we dream of being the largest weekend music event in Western Kentucky. 

The 2017 Tradewater Music Festival features eight county-rock artists performing in the new Tradewater Amphitheater.  Enjoy this hill top venue with sweeping views of the wildlife rich valley below.  American County Music Award Winner Jack Ingram kicks off the music Friday night main stage! Ingram’s hits include “Lips of an Angle”, Measure of a Man”, and “Barefoot and Crazy”. Confederate Railroad will follow preforming hits such as “Queen of Memphis”, “Daddy Never was the Cadillac Kind” and their signature song “Trashy Women”. Confederate Railroad will be available to VIP ticket holders for pictures and autographs!

 Closing out the night will be performer songwriter David Lee Murphy, best known for “Dust on the Bottle” and “Party Crowd”. Murphy’s songs have been recorded by some of the best artist in the business including Kenny Chesney, Black Shelton, Luke Bryant and Eric Church.

 In addition to the Main Stage entertainment Friday night Clayton Quesinberry, a Kentucky up and coming song writer and Nashville recording artist will perform during set changes on the Food Court Stage. Princeton Kentucky’s own Alonze Pennington kicks off a full day of musical entertainment on Saturday. Pennington is a three-time International Thumb Picking Grand Champion and semi-finals winner of the International Blues Competition on Beale Street!

You are sure to enjoy some blazing guitar playing, a heartfelt ballad and some great blues tunes! In their fifth decade of preforming Country Rock, Pure Praire League, with hit songs “Amie”, “Sad Luke” and “Bustin Out” will take the stage for an afternoon walk down memory lane! Don’t miss the opportunity to riminess with the airs to the Merle Haggard legacy, Ben and Noel Haggard with The Strangers.

The young Haggards add their own fresh take on songs like “Sing Me Back Home”, “Heaven Was a Drink of Wine,” “Workin” Man Blues” and “What Am I Gonna Do with the Rest of My Life?” all of them taking on new meanings in the wake of Hag’s passing. This iconic musical talent alone is worth the price of the ticket! Another western Kentuckian, from Slaughters, Chris Knight writes and preforms his own style of county, rock, folk, root rock and pop music.

Knight currently has five acclaimed albums with hits including “It Ain’t Easy Being Me”, “Framed” and “Me and This Road”. Chris Knight fans will travel to the ends of the earth to hear him perform the music he has written! Finally, the last performance on Saturday night is the iconic Kentucky Head Hunters! Need we say more! Hailing from Metcalfe County, if you have not heard of this band you have been under a rock for the past 40 years! They will perform hits such as “Dumas Walker”, “Spirit in the Sky” and “Walk Softly on this Heart of Mine” and many more. This group will set Western Kentucky
